When the receptionist called my girlfriend a stupid b-word on the phone it made me real glad that I go to the animal medical center on lakeway. The only thing that surprised me more than finding out it was the owners wife is that they actually have a comment page with all of the negative comments that they receive. I mean if they treat paying customers this way how do you think they are going to treat our animals... They have no voice to tell us how bad they were mistreated. Beware of these people it sounds like they are just angry at the world and looking for someone or something to take it out on.

I have read numerous reviews on this vet clinic and am surprised not to see many about the awful vet. Not our usual vet ...I called him when my dog was having a seizure for an emergency call, first was angry when he picked up the phone, wanted $500 just to see her, yelled at me that my "real" vet was in Sundance, just a real jerk. Ended up hanging up on him. Went to our "real" vet the next day, $80 for visit, all her vaccines for a year and a 100 day supply of seizure meds.....oh, and my vet and his staff, the nicest people you'll ever meet. Apparently this vet owes back taxes and needs some $$$. If you love your animal, even just slightly care for them, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!

Called for help with a small dog that belonged to my mom who was hospitalized last night she needed to be checked out, Pound said they would have to put her down if she was not checked out. Lady who answered told me to call the other Vet, she did not want to help at all. When I ask her her name she said Why, WOW she was so rude…. Good luck with that one

Would not take my pet there, dead or alive. If that lady treats people like that, I can only imagine what happens behind closed doors. There is a great team of vet's on Lakeway

The 5 star reviews must have been made by the evil one. This woman has the nastiest disposition I have ever encountered. When I told her our dogs had eaten rat poison, all she was concerned about was is if I was a regular client. I would like to add that the woman also operates a pet crematorium that we used when our beloved beagle sercome to cancer and when I picked up Scooters ashes, they were for the wrong dog. She snotly replied "Well (it) must be here somewhere." The place was a disorganized mess and I doubt that anyone really gets the ashes of their pet.

The woman who answered the phone today was the MEANEST, NASTIEST, UGLIEST, I have ever spoken to. She said they take "only premium clients, not TRASH". Wow. I have never spoken to a more miserable, evil person.

I would give this vet negative stars if possible!! the lady who answered the phone was SO rude, and when i said i needed to discuss with my husband a date to make an appt she hung up on me! I did talk to my husband after i got off the phone with her, and we did schedule an appt for ALL 3 of my cats for shots (cuz she said it’s the LAW) even though they are indoor, plus an appt for the other cat who had a lip infection at ANOTHER VET. i will make sure everyone knows about how this vet handles themselves via FB, and word of mouth. my cat, the one I called about is afraid of vets (Bad exp) and hides when he doesnt feel well. the last time he had a vet visit one of his testicles rolled inside his body he was so afraid. definitely don’t want to take him to someone with all the compassion of a snake. never, ever...no matter how sick would i ever take my cats there. Thanks to her, her doc lost shots, and care for all 3 of my cats, not only in this instance, but any future problems. AWFUL, do not recommend.

Thunder Basin in my experience is the best clinic I have ever taken my pets too. They saved my dogs life in 2009 and whenever I call they are very nice. The receptionist has been available for emergencies with my pets at all hours of the night. She has been nothing but nice and I will never go to another vet. They never asked for money up front and have even done things for my pets with no charge. To these people who wrote bad reviews about Lois, think about the way you ask questions. I have been a receptionist for years and even I want to yell at people sometimes. Whoever said there is no such thing as a stupid question LIED!!! It seems like a lot of you have had them for them!!! You can’t just call and ask questions about an animal that is not a client. First off, they do not know the history and second off if you really loved this animal price would not matter! I know it does not with mine!!!

I had originally taken my oldest pomeranian to the lakeway vet when she was very very sick. It was upsetting how sick she was I felt like the lakeway vet could help because that was where we were going before. They were terrible to her, had no clue what she even had loaded her up with all this crazy med and charges me for everything and more. It didn't help at all, and now she is terrified of the vet because of what they did to her.

I called Thunder Basin they said to bring her right in, in matter of minutes they knew what was wrong and how to get her feeling better. It was amazing the turnaround in my dog that day, I wasn't afraid she was going to die anymore. Since then I take both of my dogs their and will only go there from now on. They treat my dogs so well, they remember them care for them, and truly are concerned for their overall health.

I just got off the phone with a man who after putting me on hold for a minute told me that their prices were only for clients of their office. Well I have one thing to say about that; Way to make a client! What a waste of space!

WOW! Is right. I just saved about a 2 yr old cat from being put down. I just moved to gillette don't know where is a good place to go. I call thuner basin animal clinic, I'm greeted by the rudest lady I have ever met! I wanted to know how much they charge for a spade and shots. She was sooooo rude not know any situation or without asking any question she forcefully yelled "if all u care about is price and not yr pet GO SOMEWHERE ELSE" and hung up. Now I don't know about all of u but with the recession everyone is on budget. I want to help this animal but I also want to b able to pay the bill. If u can't be told how much a simple spade will cost without being compassionate and caring I wouldn't want u to touch my animal anyway. If u treat people like that I don't even want to imagine how mean u r behind closed doors!

wow! i wonder if dr. worden reads these reviews? ONLY 1 out of 5 was good...ouch! i think i would be having a little chat with that woman (which, by the way, are all one in the same)that has no manners, compassion for your pet, or any business being in a position dealing with the public. oh...wait! for those of you who don't know why she is in this position...it's because she's HIS woman.

yes...i too had an AWFUL experience with her in 2001 & will NEVER go there again.

I had just purchased a new dog and called Thunder Basin to set up an appt for a routine exam. The woman was horribly rude and told me they could not see my dog without her previous vet records. I told her I had just bought the animal, but believed she had been seen at the Popish clinic in Casper. The woman then said she would call to get the records and hung up on me. How was she planning on obtaining records for a dog I didn't own at the time without knowing the name of the previous owner. She never did call me back.

I called this clinic to find a new Vet for my husband and I's only child, after moving from south TX. The office staff was rude and very short. I am myself a Certified Vet Tech, and through the years of experience I know that in order to bring in a new client you are never rude to them on the first phone call. I would never vouch for this clinic, and I would never trust them with my dog.

I called to find a vet for my two dogs when we moved to Gillette, and the lady that answered the phone was rude. She acted like I ruined her day to answer a few questions I had about prices and procedures. She refused to answer any of my questions, and stated that she would have to see my dogs first. A vet that will not talk to me over the phone will not touch my pets or get my money (as it seems that is all they want).

I would never take my animals anywhere else. Dr. Wordon is a very kind and compassionate vet. His patients are his first priority, not making money. I wish I could say the same about the other clinic in town. Thunder Basin Vet Clinic will always have my business!

My furry child (an Alaskan malamute) ate my 3 year old not furry child’s chocolate. I have just moved to Gillette and have no vet at the moment so I called thunder basin for help and to possibly find a vet in the area. She told me she was not able to help (even give advice of what to do or see my dog) in regards to the chocolate my dog ate!! The owner herself told me I would have to pay $55 just for advice over the phone!! Talk about animal cruelty… having the information that could save my dog but refusing to even tell me what I can do for her without making an appointment for the vet (which was 2 weeks out) is in my mind allowing my dog to possibly die out of GREED. This woman disgusts me! Be warned she cares about the green in your wallet she gets for seeing your animal. not the animal itself!

If you are looking for a good vet try Mountain View vet in Sheridan. Yes I know it is far but one of the vets there stayed on the phone while I did what she told me for my dog. . was very personable. . and even called back to see how my dog was doing after all the chaos subsided!
