Seventy First Animal Hospital

This is the 3rd time I have been very upset with this vet!! The first time, I had my female dog spayed there. They misquoted the price and told me it would be $125 at the most for her spay. I pick her up and it ends up costing over $300!! They did a sloppy stitch job and she ended up getting infected. I called and asked them to check it out and they told me there would be a re-check fee.

I just had my dog neutered there last week and they told me it would be $80. When i get there, they print out a form that said his quote was going to be $125 and said they like to do this because people were complaining about picking their pets up and the price being way off. I was already in there, had already taken off work, was upset but was like FINE, go ahead and do it, I’m already here. I pick him up that afternoon and they charge me $236!!!! How do you go from $80 to $125 to $236!!!??? That’s almost 3 times the quoted price!!! A few days later, his sack is swollen up the size of an orange. I call them and they tell me again, that they are going to charge a recheck fee of $35. I’m thinking, yeah they tell me that and i get there and their going to charge me and arm and a leg for THEIR MISTAKE!!! I said, well can you at least tell me if swelling like this is normal? And she wouldn’t even speak to me over the phone. She told me in a very rude manner that she’s not allowed to disclose any information and I’d have to bring him in. I called my normal vet (Manchester in Spring Lake) and they said there shouldn’t be a recheck fee! I’m taking him there today to get checked out. I had my girlfriend call and ask if they were going to charge a recheck fee because they had already overcharged us and we weren’t going to pay for their mistakes, the secretary once again said I'm not allowed to disclose that information. How can you not tell me if you are going to charge me or not!? All this isn't even mentioning the incident that happened between these 2 incidents.

My dog was very sick with vomiting and diarrhea one day. I called and set up an appt. When I got her there they said they couldn’t see her because their staff was short handed, after i had driven all the way out there! They sent us back home. This place is so unprofessional its a joke. I’m never going back to that place again. Please stay away from this place.
